K-3 Gifted & Talented
The K-3 Gifted and Talented Program fosters a love of learning where a student's passion can be explored. Core to this belief is that a student is gifted all of the time and not during a specified portion of the day where we can gain access to the student for special programming. For this reason, we are committed to a model that values differentiated instruction where classroom teachers work to modify instruction, content, and assessment to match a student's ability level.
Based upon the identification practices utilized in the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District, we benefit from heterogeneous classrooms with clusters of exceptionally able students of like ability, permitting educational experiences to match each individual's learning needs and style. Our program follows a "push-in" approach where enrichment experiences take place within the regular classroom. These experiences may include whole group instruction, small group work, and one-on-one conferencing.
